Unlocking The Madness

I've been told... "Don’t eat after 6pm, do fasted cardio, HIIT is the best, eat carbs in your post-workout meal, do this exercise to get great abs, don’t do that exercise to tone your legs, etc." Confused? Thought so.

Why is there so much confusion?

With thousands of nutritionists, dietitians, and personal trainers out there, and each of them having their own philosophy on fitness, it’s no wonder why people get confused. It’s information overload. Peoples’ confusion is usually down to their own lack of patience and confidence in what they’re doing. People find it hard to stick with a particular plan when they feel like there’s another and faster way of doing things. After all, why would you want to waste time if method “x” is getting much better results for other people?

A big reason why everyone is confused is because 90% of what you read out there actually works. Sure, yes there are a load of ridiculous ideas thrown around, but a little common sense can go a long way towards eliminating them. Take a minute to simplify all those ideas down, you will see that they all preach eating whole foods and exercising.

Every diet out there works, no carb, low carb, and high carb, nutrient timing, paleo, and intermittent fasting. What I found though was that a particular eating style or “diet” succeeded through the most important fitness concept of all – adherence.

What should you do then?

Find the system that’s proven to work, for YOU, one which suits your lifestyle, a system you can gather knowledge on, so you can apply it to yourself and then give it a chance to work.

Most people do just fine with phase 1 of the process. The problem happens when after a week/month of eating a certain way then people go read something else that makes sense too shown to give better results, So, they change their diet up once again, and the cycle continues over and over.

The ultimate goal is to eventually take this information & knowledge form that proven system or a coach and be able to formulate your own individual plan. One that makes sense to you and that you can call your own. One that will fit into your lifestyle. One that you will be able to stick with for the rest of your life.

That really is the key to unlocking all this madness – eat whole foods, get active, obtain the knowledge to find a way in which you can use a system that will give you consistency & adherence.
